Five Long Years

I haven’t written anything about the recent five-year anniversary of the Iraq invasion, as this is not really much of a current events kind of website, and there’s been plenty of good commentary and deliberation around the web. Also, I feel largely inadequate giving more than a brief opinion on events happening thousands of miles away when I’ve never even been to Canada.

So, here is just a sample of the Iraq-themed programs (all of them on public broadcasting) I’ve seen or heard recently which I found interesting and which I commend to you:

  • Bush’s War - Amazing Frontline documentary which I hope all of you got a chance to see.
  • Studio 360 - A discussion of Iraq-themed movies like Stop Loss.
  • On The Media - A compelling retrospective of the media’s role (and foibles) from the beginning of the invasion until now.
  • Think Out Loud - Interesting discussion about the so-called Iraq Generation, young Americans who have come of age during the invasion.
