Hope you like the new site.  Gone are the two separate pages for the blog or the podcast.  Now they both reside on the same page and in the same feed (more on that later).  I’m really not a fan of clutter and big, distracting graphics on websites, as you might tell from the new look.  Hopefully you found your way here easily and hopefully you will find something worth reading or listening to.

And maybe the best part of the new site is this:  no more Haloscan comments windows.  Glory to Zeus!

The other big announcement is the new contributors-only feed, which includes the entire audio archives going back to podcast #1 as well as the new video podcast.  Now, I’m still not quite sure what I’m doing with video, or what I want to talk about in that format, but then those things were also true when I started the audio podcast two years ago, so hopefully I’ll figure it out.  If you want to help with ongoing costs, getting new equipment, adding new features, that kind of thing, sign up for the $5.00 monthly contribution and see my mug on your computer screen on a regular basis.

As far as feeds go, if you are subscribed to the blog feed, you should still only get blog posts in that feed.  And if you are subscribed to the podcast feed, then you will still get the podcasts only.  In other words, you will have to do exactly nothing (thanks, Feedburner).  But if, for some reason, you want to consolidate your feeds and get everything at the same time, then you can subscribe to the complete feed which, as the name suggests, gives you both.  And if you do that, I’d appreciate you unsubscribing from those other feeds so I can get as accurate a picture as possible of the various numbers.

Again, thanks for two interesting years as a .com.  Now we’ll see how life is different as a .net.
